If so, look out today -- it's Friday the 13th ! !
Ouch to the max! Just got back from Tucson (temp today over 100) where we did some shopping and we filled up our 10 gas cans before prices rise even more. It's $3.95 here in Benson but we got it at Costco for $3.69. And that is 87 octane which is the lowest level for Arizona because of our lower altitude. For comparison, I checked with utahgasprices.com and saw 85 octane's lowest price quoted was $3.81 while the mid-grade 87 octane was $3.96. To help save more, we have been driving at 65 mph on the freeway. Rod can get an extra day's commute on a tank of gas doing that which is about 75 miles. He is also able to work four 10-hour days which also saves us another day's commute. I also try to limit my trips to the store and post office to once or twice a week because that's about a 12-mile round trip drive. Rod often runs those errands on his motorcycle.
When we got home, we cooled off in Riley's pool seeings how it was our water that filled it. It's a 3' deep by 12' diameter; just right for a good cooling off. He and Kari took his boat to a lake somewhere for the weekend. I expect them to return rather sunburned.
The garden is growing well and we should have zucchini pretty soon. But, there is a creature that's been eating the plant leaves of the squash and pumpkins and some corn. We have lots of jackrabbits around as well as skunks and the occasional raccoon so they are probably the culprits. Get out the .22!!
