Here are some photos of the motorcycle accident. Sorry, the deer was unavailable. If you are squeamish with seeing icky sores, avoid the last few photos.I'm starting off gently. These are flowers sent to Rod in the hospital from his employer, Sierra Southwest.
The motorcycle is missing its windshield (installed new last week), headlamp (also new), right valve cover to the engine, plus scrapes to various parts and a few bent places. Rod will use parts off of this motorcycle to get its twin running -- after he heals, of course.
Imagine these scrapes on his helmet applied to his face as well as any skull fractures that may have happened. There are scrapes on the left side, too. If the impact of his falling broke 5 ribs and his shoulder blade (which, upon researching, seldom happens except in high impact accidents), we hate to think what condition he would be in had he not been wearing a good helmet.ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET WHEN RIDING MOTORCYCLES, ATV's, BICYCLES
This bruise started showing on Friday and has continued to grow. Amazing he didn't have any internal bleeding.
His right arm is looking a lot better. Remember, these injuries have had 5 days healing time. The bruise is just beginnign to surface. He keeps this arm in a sling to minimize shoulder pain.
The right knee is less damaged than the left. The ointment used to dress his abrasions is the same used for burn victims. There is a bruise forming on the outside left knee. His left foot has also started to swell but has no bruising. Other roadrash areas are scabbed over. I read in the Tucson paper yesterday about a man who lost control of his motorcycle while riding on the dirt shoulder of a road. He was not wearing a helmet and was killed. We feel so blessed that our husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother is still here with us.

We are praying for you Dad(and Grandpa!) Mom how did you get Dad to pose half-nude and let you take photos?
As long as I didn't document the one on his left "cheek", he was OK with it. Plus, you don't see much of him because I used the closeup setting on my camera.
Sounds like things have been a little crazy at your house. Glad to hear your husband is okay. I agree 100% about the helmets. Almost two years ago there was a serious ATV accident involving a young man from our ward and some of his friends. He was hurt pretty bad but is doing well now. The young lady that was riding with him was killed though. Neither of them had helmets on.
