First you forget names.
Then you forget faces.
Then you forget to pull up your zipper.

It's worse when you forget to pull it down!

Emma's 7th Birthday

Taking a detour from our progeny updates to catchup with special events that have happened recently. First on the schedule, our #1 granddaughter, Emma, had her 7th birthday on May 10 and the family celebrated it on May 17 because she wanted to have her Aunt Margo there. It was well-attended by the Morgans and Andersons. As you can see from the photos, Emma and Abbey especially had fun playing with Aunt Margo. She is already looking forward to being baptized next year.
Emma just finished 1st grade and is reading on a 4-5th grade level. She does well in all her school work and likes science. She didn't want school to end but she is looking forward to 2nd grade. Her teacher told her to read more chapter books, like "Little House on the Prairie", this summer. Luckily, she loves to read. She immediately started reading the book we gave her -- a large, hard-bound copy with colored drawings of "Charlotte's Web". Emma has beautiful, big brown eyes, a smattering of freckles and loves to dance. She has some great dance moves. She is 4' 2" tall and weighs approx 60#. She is also creative and "sneaky" when it comes to getting in trouble because of her curiosity and stubbornness. Example: Nora had just made some cookie dough and put it in the fridge to use later. Emma decides she wants to use in with her play stove --- outside! So much for dessert. But she is becoming more responsible for her actions and understanding of the consequences, something even grown-ups have trouble doing (or else why so many prisons?). She definitely keeps us on our toes.
As of yet, I cannot create a slideshow until I figure out why my computer is blocking the site. So, until I get that done, you can view more pictures taken at Emma's party at:
