Thurs-Fri ~~ We didn't do anything at Lake Tahoe except sleep there. On Friday, we drove up the west side of the lake on our way back to Oakland. After the twisting turns of Thursday, we wanted nice, fast, straight freeway and figured I-80 was our answer. I gratefully turned the driving over to Rodney for the day. We did get a few photos of Lake Tahoe.

We arrived in Oakland around 4:00, checked into our hotel and got ready to attend the Oakland Temple. WOW! It is beautiful. The endowment room we were in seats 180! and there were probably about 130 in our session.
Afterward, we went to eat before returning the rental car. It was 9:30 and all the fast-foot places near our hotel were closed except for the drive-thru. There lobbies closed at 8:00 PM ! ! ! Unheard of! We didn't have time to go to a regular restaurant so went just ate in the car. Dropped off the car, took a shuttle back to the airport where we picked up a shuttle to our hotel.
SATURDAY - FINAL DAY ~~ Checked out of our hotel at 11:00 and took the shuttle to the airport for our 1PM flight. Thought the airport would be busy and we would need extra time to get through security. Nope. We could have been there 30 min before boarding time and been fine. So we sat for 2 hours (thankfully Oakland airport has free WiFi). Then off to Los Angeles where we waited another 2 hours for our connecting flight back to Tucson. They did not have free WiFi. BorING. Got in at six - went to visit Derek and family as Christy and Caitlyn had birthdays during the week and Danica had been in the hospital for 3 days. All was well. Caitlyn did inform us that we forgot to call her on her birthday. OOPS!! Bad Grandma!
Walked in our door at 10:00 PM. Finally HOME!!!!!
